Perguntas frequentes
Is there a murder mystery game I can play myself in Sydney?
Yes. This one is set in Newtown and played on your phone as you walk. A famous travel blogger, Bella Wanderlust, has been found dead during a ghost tour, and you gather clues and question suspects, including her boyfriend Walter and the guide Percy Shadows, to find out who did it.
Is this like an escape room in Newtown?
It shares the puzzle solving and the race to crack a case, but it happens outdoors on the streets of Newtown rather than in a locked room. There is no time slot to book: you start whenever you like and work through the clues at places along the route.
Where does it start and how long does it take?
You start at the Gadigal Wangal wayfinding project artwork by Jasmine Sarin and finish back at the same spot. The loop is about 2.2 km and takes around 90 minutes, passing Newtown Court House, Camperdown Memorial Rest Park, Newtown Baptist Church and Newtown Library. You can pause and continue later.
Is it suitable for kids?
It suits older kids and teens who enjoy detective puzzles and can walk about 2.2 km. The story centres on a death, a suspicious boyfriend and a dramatic ghost tour guide, so younger children may find the theme too dark or the investigation hard to follow.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
Yes, one ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated, and each person can follow along on their own phone. There is no set start time, so you can begin whenever suits you and take a break midway if needed.
