Where does the Södermalm walk start and finish?
It starts at The Golden Bridge and finishes at Medborgarplatsen, Södermalm's biggest square, which has plenty of restaurants and bars. It is not a loop, so you end up in a different spot from where you began, a good place to stop for food or a drink.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Most players take 2.5 to 3 hours, walking and puzzles included, to cover about 4.3 km. The route passes 13 stops, including Katarina Church, Sofia Church, the White Mountains Theatre and Skrapan. You can pause along the way and continue later.
Is the route hilly?
Yes. The route has varied terrain and changes in elevation, which brings the views over Lake Mälaren but may not suit people with limited mobility. Comfortable shoes help, and anyone unsure about hills over 4.3 km may prefer a flatter quest.
Can we play as a group?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together on a phone. You follow the app from stop to stop, hear the story of each place and solve puzzles based on what is in front of you, with no guide and no group to join.
Do we need to book a time?
No. You can start whenever you like and pause to continue later. The route is open 24/7, but it is better played during daylight hours, when the views over Lake Mälaren and the details at each stop are easier to see.
