Where does the walk start and finish?
It starts at the Santa Barbara Mission and finishes at the Hill-Carrillo Adobe downtown, so it does not return to the start. On the way you pass the Lower Reservoir, the Rose Garden, Alice Keck Park Memorial Garden, Casa de la Guerra, the Presidio and the Courthouse.
How long does it take and how far is it?
Most players take about 2.5 hours, walking and puzzles included, over roughly 4.7 km. You can pause at any point and continue later, so there is time for a break between stops. Bring a hat, sunscreen and enough water.
Is it good for kids?
It is tagged family friendly and suits school-age children who enjoy a pirate story, since each stop has a puzzle set in what is in front of you. The 4.7 km route and the time in the sun may be a lot for very young children.
