Where does the Retiro quest start and finish?
It starts at the Royal Gate and finishes at the Alfonso XII Monument, so it does not return to where you began. Along the way you pass 15 stops, including the Fountain of the Galapagos, the Velazquez Palace, the Crystal Palace and the Fountain of the Fallen Angel.
What is the difference between a guided tour and a self-guided tour with an app?
There is no guide and no group to join. Your phone leads you from place to place, tells the story of each spot and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you. You start whenever you like and can pause and continue later, though there is nobody to ask questions live.
Is this like an escape room in Retiro Park?
It shares the spirit of one: a mystery story with puzzles you solve in the real world. The difference is that you play outdoors along the park's paths rather than in a locked room. The difficulty is easy, and since it runs on your phone, bring a full battery or a power bank.
How long does it take to complete?
Most players take about two hours, walking and puzzles included, to cover roughly 4.6 km through the park. You do not need to book a time slot, and you can pause along the way and pick up where you left off later.
Is it suitable for kids, and can we play as a group?
Yes, it is rated easy and works well for relaxed groups and families with children old enough to read clues and walk a few kilometres. One ticket covers the whole group playing together on the same route, so everyone can solve the puzzles side by side.
