You play as Godfrey, a knight separated from his comrades on the battlefield outside Maastricht's walls. The app leads you through the streets from stop to stop, tells the story of each place and sets puzzles in what is around you. There is no guide and no group to join.
Where does the game start and finish?
It starts at The Gate and finishes at The Commander, so it does not end where it began. In between you follow 11 more stops in order, including The Mill, The Church, The Prison and The Barracks, covering about 3.1 km.
How long does it take, and can we take breaks?
Most players take about 2.5 hours, walking and puzzles included. You can pause and continue later, and if the weather turns cold you can step inside to warm up at almost any location along the route.
Is it a good scavenger hunt for kids?
It works best for families with older children who enjoy reading clues and solving puzzles together. The story involves enemies and a raging battle, and with about 2.5 hours and 3.1 km on foot it can feel long for very young children.
