Is this a good way to explore London's wartime history?
Yes, if you like history told through a story. You play a showgirl drawn into a WWII espionage plot, and the route passes wartime landmarks including the Churchill and Roosevelt Allies sculpture, the Churchill War Rooms, the Monument to the RAF, the Montgomery Statue and the Cenotaph.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts on Berkeley Street in Mayfair and finishes at The Cenotaph in Westminster, so it is a one-way route rather than a loop. Along the way you pass Burlington Arcade, St James's Piccadilly, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square and Horse Guards Parade.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Most players take around 2 hours 40 minutes, close to three hours, including walking and solving the puzzles. The route covers about 5.1 km. You can start whenever you like, and it is best played during the day.
Is it suitable for children?
It is recommended for families. It suits children old enough to follow a spy story, enjoy working out clues, and walk about 5.1 km over nearly three hours. Very young children may find the length and the wartime setting hard going.
Can we play as a group, and can we take a break?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together on a phone. There is no set start time or guide to keep up with, so you can pause the quest, stop for a rest or a meal, and continue later from where you left off.
