Is this a pirate escape room in London?
It is an outdoor escape game rather than a room. You walk through Southwark with your phone, playing a Pirate Queen back after 300 years to recover a cursed treasure, and solve puzzles hidden in the streets, alleys, bridges and riverside spots in front of you. There is no guide; the app leads the way.
Where does the pirate walk start and finish?
It starts at The Ferryman's Seat and finishes at Tower Bridge, so it does not return to the start. On the way you pass the original site of the Globe Theatre, the Golden Hinde, Southwark Cathedral, Borough Market, Crossbones Garden, Hay's Galleria and HMS Belfast, covering about 4.3 km.
How long does it take, and can we pause?
Most players take close to three hours, including the walking and the puzzles. You can start whenever you like, with no time slot to book, and you can pause the game, stop for a break at somewhere like Borough Market, and continue later from where you left off.
Is it good for kids?
It is recommended for families and built around a pirate revenge story with clues to crack along the route. It suits children who enjoy puzzles and can manage a 4.3 km walk lasting close to three hours. Very young children may find the length too much, and it is best played during the day.
Can we play as a group?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together, so families or friends can follow the clues on a shared phone. There is no group to join and no guide to meet; you start at The Ferryman's Seat whenever suits you and finish at Tower Bridge.
