How does an outdoor escape room work in Cincinnati?
The app on your phone leads you from place to place, tells the story of each spot and sets a puzzle using what is in front of you. You work as a team to outsmart the witch, or play solo against the leaderboard. Expect it to take around 90 minutes.
What is the Oz escape story about?
It is an all-new narrative inspired by L. Frank Baum's original Oz novel from 1900. You join a team of misfits and try to outsmart the witch by solving her challenges. Original Oz-themed songs written for the game play in the app, and you can listen to them on demand at home afterwards.
Where does the game start and which places does it pass?
You start at the School for Creative and Performing Arts. Clues then lead you to places such as Old St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Art Academy of Cincinnati, the Central Parkway YMCA, Copper & Flame, Washington Park and The Transept.
Do we need to book a time slot, and can the whole group play together?
No booking slot is needed: you start whenever you like. One ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated, so friends or family can solve the puzzles together. You can also pause partway and continue later.
Is it outdoors, and what if it rains?
Yes, the whole game is played outdoors on the streets and in Washington Park, so dress for the weather. Because you can pause at any point and pick up where you left off, a sudden shower does not mean losing your progress.
