This quest is an outdoor Marconi trail rather than a museum visit. It walks you through the city's wireless heritage, including the first wireless factory in the world, the New Street Factory and the Marconi Statue, telling the story of each place as you go.
Do I need a smartphone app to play?
Yes. The quest is played on your phone through the app, which guides you from stop to stop, tells the story of each place and sets a puzzle based on what is in front of you. There is no printed map or guide to follow.
Where does the walk start and how long does it take?
It starts and finishes at the First Wireless Factory in the World, so you end where you began. The route covers about 2.5 km with 11 stops, including Stone Bridge, Central Park and the Regent Theatre, and takes about an hour at a steady pace.
Do we need to book a time, and can we pause?
No booking is needed. You can start whenever suits you and pause to continue later, for a coffee or a look inside somewhere along the way. One ticket covers your whole group. We recommend playing in daylight rather than at night.
