A experiência
Sobre esta experiência
Two brothers walk into Charleston. The churches are beautiful, the cobblestones are ancient, and something is very wrong.
Follow Will and Tom Broughton through one of America's most storied port cities: past graveyards and grand houses, pirate history and fire-scarred buildings, the oldest liquor store in America and the gates of a legendary blacksmith.
Every block has a story. Some of them are still playing out.
É para si?
Para quem é
First-time visitors and weekend couples who want downtown Charleston's history told as a story will follow two brothers past Rainbow Row, Saint Michael's Church, the Old Exchange dungeon and the Pink House, solving puzzles as they go. Friends and families who prefer their own pace to a fixed-time tour suit it well. With about two hours on foot and no guide to quiz, anyone after a live historian should look elsewhere.

Perguntas frequentes
Is there a walking game you can play in downtown Charleston?
Yes. This quest is played on your phone as you walk. You follow Will and Tom Broughton through the old city, hear the story of each stop and solve a puzzle based on what is in front of you, from flower boxes and pineapples to a carriage stone.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at St. Philip's Church and loops back to it at the end, so you finish where you began. Along the way the app leads you to stops such as Saint Michael's Church, Stolls Alley, Rainbow Row, the Fire Station and the Dock Street Theatre.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Plan on around 2 hours to cover about 1.9 km through downtown at an easy pace. You can pause at any point, stop for a drink or a meal, and continue later from where you left off.
Do we need to book a time, and can a group play together?
There is no time slot to book and no guide to meet, so you can start whenever you like. One ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated for the quest, so friends or family can play side by side.
What history does the route cover?
The walk takes in churches and graveyards, grand houses such as the Nathaniel Russell House, pirate history, fire-scarred buildings, the Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon, the oldest liquor store in America and the gates of a legendary blacksmith, all woven into one story.
What kind of walk is this?
It’s like strolling through a living postcard of Charleston. You walk through beautiful streets, past houses, churches, and graveyards, hearing stories about pirates, presidents, traders, and regular people who shaped the city.
Who would love doing this?
Great for couples who want a romantic afternoon, folks into architecture and history, tourists who want more than just photos, and friends who enjoy chatting as they explore new places together.
