Is this a beer bike or beer bus tour of Bucharest?
No. It is a self-guided walk on foot through Old Town, played on your phone. The app leads you through 13 stops over about 1.8 km, tells the story of each place and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you. You start whenever you like.
Where does the beer trail start and finish?
It starts at Whispers Behind the Inn and finishes at The Keeper of the Recipe, so it does not end where it began. On the way you pass Manuc's Mysterious Entrance, The Beer Courtyard, The Banker's Vault, The Beer Hall of Bucharest and The Alley of Kings.
How long does it take?
Most players take around 75 minutes, walking and puzzles included, over a distance of about 1.8 km. You can pause at any point and continue later, so there is no need to rush between stops or finish in one go.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
Yes, one ticket covers the whole group playing together on the route. There is no time slot to book and no group to join: you start at Whispers Behind the Inn whenever suits you and follow the app from stop to stop.
Is it suitable for kids?
It is tagged family friendly. The theme is the history of beer, inns and beer halls in Old Town, told as stories, and the puzzles are solved by looking at the places around you, so children old enough to enjoy observation puzzles can join in on the 1.8 km walk.
