What is Questo and how does this quest work?
Questo is an app for self-guided walks through real cities, played on your phone. It leads you from place to place, tells the story of each one and sets a puzzle based on what is in front of you. There is no guide and no group to join, so you set the pace.
Where does the Bordeaux wine walk start and finish?
It starts at the C.I.V.B, the Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux, and loops back to the same spot. Along the way you pass the Monument aux Girondins, the Quai des Chartrons, a viewpoint toward the Cité du Vin, the maritime history museum, Rue Notre Dame and the CAPC.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Plan on about two hours for a route of around 3.5 km, including time to read the stories and solve the puzzles. You can pause whenever you like, stop for a coffee or a glass of wine, and continue later from where you left off.
Is it good for kids, given the wine theme?
Yes, it is tagged as family friendly and the walk does not involve any tasting. The focus is the history of the wine trade, told through streets, facades and old workshops. It suits children who can manage a 3.5 km walk and enjoy working out puzzles from what they see.
Do we need to book a time, and can we play as a group?
