What is this mystery walk in Bilbao about?
You search for the missing Maestro of the Bilbao Orchestra while walking through the historic alleys of Casco Viejo and crossing bridges full of legends. At each stop the app tells you the story of the place and sets a challenge based on what is in front of you.
Does the route pass the Fountain of the Dogs?
Yes. The Fuente del Perro, or Fountain of the Dogs, is one of the final stops, just after Palacio Yohn (La Bolsa) and before the route returns to Teatro Arriaga. Other stops include Plaza Unamuno, Muelle Marzana, Plaza Nueva and the Puente de la Merced.
Where does it start and how long does it take?
The walk starts and finishes at Teatro Arriaga, so you end up back where you began. It covers about 2.2 km through the Old Town and takes around 90 minutes, depending on how quickly you solve the puzzles and how long you linger at each stop.
Is this a self-guided walking tour, and do we need to book a time?
It is fully self-guided on your phone, with no guide and no group to join, so you can start whenever you like. One ticket covers your whole group, and you can pause the game, take a break in a café or plaza, and continue later.
Is it suitable for children?
It suits families with older children who can follow a story, work through puzzles about the buildings and bridges around them, and walk about 2.2 km. Very young children may lose interest over a route of around 90 minutes, so it works best when kids enjoy solving challenges.
