Is this a self-guided walking tour of Barcelona?
Yes. The app leads you on foot through 15 stops in the old town, from Plaça de Catalunya past the Liceu, Plaça Reial, the Cathedral, Plaça del Rei and Santa Maria del Mar. It tells the story of each place and sets a puzzle there. Start any time, no guide or group.
Is it a contactless tour?
It is played entirely on your own phone, with no guide to meet and no group to join. You start whenever you like, follow the clues at your own pace and can pause and continue later. Bring a fully charged phone or a power bank.
Where does it start and finish?
It starts at Plaça de Catalunya and finishes at the Arco de Triunfo de Barcelona, so it is not a loop. Along the way you pass Portal de l'Àngel, the Cathedral, Pont del Bisbe, Plaça Sant Jaume, Mercat del Born and the Rius and Taulet monument.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Most players take around two and a half hours, walking and puzzles included, over about 4.3 km. Much of the route is outdoors, so wear a hat and sunscreen and carry enough water, especially on hot days. You can pause along the way and pick it up again later.
