Veelgestelde vragen
What is the black box of Wels?
It is the mystery at the centre of this detective quest. You walk through Wels solving puzzles about the city's past and present, trying to break a dark curse said to have haunted the town for hundreds of years. The case is based on a real historical event from many centuries ago.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at Welios, the science centre, and finishes at the Bahnhof, the train station, so it is not a loop. In between you pass the Burggarten, the Haus der Salome Alt, the Ledererturm, Pollheimer Park, Schloss Pollheim and Kaiser Joseph Platz, about 3.4 km in total.
How long does it take?
Most players take just over two hours, including the walking and the puzzles at 15 stops. You can start any time and pause along the way, then carry on later if you need a break or want to stop for food.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes, it is tagged family friendly and works best for school-age children, who can follow the detective story and help with the puzzles. Keep in mind the route covers about 3.4 km over a little more than two hours, which can be a lot for very young children.
Can we play it as a team event in Wels?
Yes, a group can play together, and one ticket covers the whole group. There is no guide and no set time to book, so your team can start whenever suits. The route is open around the clock, though it is better played in daylight.
