You step into the Venice Carnival of 1687 to uncover a dark mystery of ghost sightings, hidden clues and deadly conspiracies, racing to save Venice before midnight. Along the way you hear forgotten legends, explore quieter corners and learn how clever engineering let Venice rise from the lagoon.
Where does the walk start and finish?
It starts in Piazza San Marco and finishes at Carta Gate, so it loops back to where you began. The 3.1 km route takes in 13 stops, including Chiesa di San Zaccaria, Ponte del Diavolo, Ponte di Rialto, Teatro Goldoni and Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo.
How long does it take, and when should we go?
Most players take about two hours, walking and puzzles included. You can play any time, but after sunset is recommended, when the crowds fade and the canals go quiet. You can also pause and pick up where you left off later.
Is it suitable for children?
