Yes. The story, the details about each place and the puzzles are in English, and the quest is written with English-speaking visitors and day-trippers in mind. Everything appears on your phone as you walk, so you can read at your own pace and go back over a clue whenever you need to.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at the Castle Grotto and finishes at the Innenministerium, so it does not end where it began. In between you pass Schwerin Castle, the State Chancellery, the State Museum, the Staatstheater, the Marketplace, the cathedral, Weinhaus Wöhler and the Pfaffenteich, about 1.9 km in total.
How long does it take?
Most players take around 90 minutes, including the walking and the time spent on puzzles. The route covers about 1.9 km over ten stops, so the pace is relaxed, with plenty of time spent looking closely at buildings and following the cold-case story at each place.
Do we need to book a time, and can we play as a group?
No booking is needed. The quest is free to play and you can start whenever you like, with no group to join and no guide to meet. Friends, couples and small groups can simply gather at the Castle Grotto and play together from one phone or several.
Can we pause and continue later?
Yes. You can stop at any point, for a coffee near the Marketplace or a break by the Pfaffenteich, and pick up the story where you left off later. Because the route is self-guided, there is no fixed schedule to keep up with.
