Where does the Shakespeare walk start and finish?
It starts at The George Inn in Southwark and finishes at Saint Mary Aldermanbury Garden, so it does not return to the start. Along the way you pass London Bridge, Southwark Cathedral, the Clink Prison Museum, the Rose and both Globes, then the College of Arms and St Paul's Cathedral.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Most players take about two and a half hours, including walking and solving the puzzles. The route covers about 3.3 km. You can pause at any point, for example in one of the pubs on the way, and continue later.
Is it suitable for children?
It is recommended for families and works best with school-age children, especially those studying Shakespeare, since the puzzles are set in the theatres, streets and buildings in front of you. With about two and a half hours on foot, very young children may find it long.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together on a phone. There is no fixed time slot and no group to join, so you can start whenever you like during the day and go at your own pace.
Is it an outdoor activity, and what if it rains?
The quest is a self-guided walk through the streets of Southwark and the City, so most of it is outdoors and it is best played during the day. If the weather turns, you can pause the game and pick it up again later.
