It is an escape-room style game played outdoors rather than in a locked room. Your phone leads you through Richmond's historic town and riverside, tells the story of each place and sets puzzles in what is in front of you, as you help John Lewis in 1755.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at Richmond Theatre and finishes at the Richmond Hill viewing point, so it does not return to the start. Along the way you pass St Mary Magdalene Church, Richmond Palace, the War Memorial, Richmond Riverside and Terrace Gardens.
How long does it take?
Most players take just over two hours, walking and puzzles included, to cover the 2.6 km route. You can pause the game at any point and continue later if you want a break at one of the pubs or by the river.
Can we play as a group?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together, so friends or a family can solve the puzzles side by side on the same game as they walk the route.
