Is this a self-guided walking tour of Pula?
Yes. The app on your phone leads you from place to place, tells the story of each stop and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you. There is no guide and no group to join, so you can start whenever you like.
Where does the walking route start and finish?
It starts at the market building with the green grocery and fish market and finishes at the Kastel fortress, so it does not return to the start. On the way you pass Porta Aurea, Zero Strasse, Tito's park, the Riva, the cathedral, the city hall and the Dirka mosaic.
How long does it take, and can we pause?
Most players take around two and a half hours to cover the 2.7 km, including walking and solving the puzzles. You can pause at any point, stop for a coffee or a swim, and continue later from where you left off.
Is it suitable for children?
It is rated easy and family friendly, so school-age children can follow the spy story and help with the puzzles. Much of the route is outdoors, so bring hats, sunscreen and enough water, especially on summer days.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
One ticket covers the whole group playing together on the same phone. There is no fixed start time to book: the route is open around the clock, though it is better to play during daylight hours.
