Is dit iets voor jullie?
Voor wie het is
A 1.9 km walk through Durham becomes a hunt for The Kingmakers, a secret society a whistleblower has exposed, with secrets to decode along the way over around 90 minutes. Friends, couples on a date, families with teens and escape room fans who prefer playing outdoors at their own pace will enjoy it. Anyone after a live guide to question, or a relaxed stroll without puzzles, should pick something else.

Een paar antwoorden voor vertrek
Veelgestelde vragen
Is this a good alternative to an escape room in Durham?
It uses the same mix of clues and code-breaking, but you play outdoors on Durham's streets instead of in a locked room. You follow a whistleblower's leads to expose a secret society, solving puzzles on your phone as you walk, with no time slot to book.
How long does the game take and how far do we walk?
Plan on around 90 minutes of play over about 1.9 km on foot. You can pause whenever you like, for a coffee or a meal, and continue later from where you stopped, so the total time can be as relaxed as you want.
Is it suitable for kids?
The story of a centuries-old conspiracy and its decoding puzzles suit teenagers best, playing alongside adults. Younger children may find the plot and the code-breaking hard to follow, so it works better as a game for teens, couples and groups of friends.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
One ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated for the ticket. There is no booked slot and no guide: start at any time that suits you and play together on your own phones, at your own pace.
Is it played outdoors, and what if it rains?
Yes, the whole game takes place outdoors as you walk through Durham, so dress for the weather. If rain sets in, you can pause the game and continue later from the same point, on another day if you prefer.
