Over deze quest
Forget every ghost story you've heard about this city. This Halloween, ten restless spirits are loose on its streets. 👻 No history book knows their names. No tour guide has heard of them. Most are just lost souls. One is lying to you. 💀
A hooded Oracle needs a ghost hunter. Every spirit is stuck on unfinished business: solve its mystery, catch it, and it gives up a clue. Follow the trail across town, crack ciphers and riddles (some only the street itself can answer), then name the Evil One and destroy it before it finds you. 🕷️
Is dit iets voor jullie?
Voor wie het is
Starting at the Cary Arts Center, this 2.4 km trail through downtown sends you past the Guess-Ogle Home, the Ivey Ellington House and Frantz Square to catch ten restless spirits in around 90 minutes. It suits friends who would rather crack ciphers than follow a guide, and families with older kids who like a spooky mystery. Anyone after documented local hauntings or a live guide should pick a guided walk.

Veelgestelde vragen
Is this a ghost tour of Cary?
It is a self-guided ghost hunt played on your phone in downtown Cary. There is no guide telling legends. You track ten restless spirits, solve each one's unfinished business to earn a clue, and use the trail of clues to name the Evil One and destroy it.
Does the route pass any historic houses in Cary?
Yes. Stops include the Guess-Ogle Home and the Ivey Ellington House, along with Downtown Cary Park, the Cary Then & Now Mural, Frantz Square and The Nest. The spirits are characters written for the game, so it is a story played around these places, not a claim that they are haunted.
Where does it start and how long does it take?
The hunt starts at Cary Arts Center and covers about 2.4 km on foot through downtown. Most groups take around 90 minutes. You can start at any time and pause, then carry on later from where you left off.
Is it suitable for kids?
It suits older kids and teens who enjoy spooky stories and can work through ciphers and riddles, some of which need clues found on the street itself. The plot involves a lying spirit and an Evil One to destroy, so think twice for young or easily frightened children.
Do we need to book a time, and can we play as a group?
There is no time slot to book, so you start whenever suits you. One ticket covers your whole group, playing together on phones up to the number of devices stated at purchase, and nobody else joins your game.
