Veelgestelde vragen
Is this a self-guided walking tour of Cartagena?
Yes. You play it on your phone, and the app leads you from place to place inside the walled city. At each stop it tells the story of the place, including the treasure fleets and colonial trade, and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you. There is no guide and no group to join.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at Baluarte de Santo Domingo and finishes at the Torre del Reloj, so it does not return to the start. In between you pass Plaza de Santo Domingo, the Museum of Cartagena de Indias, Plaza de Bolívar, the cathedral, Museo del Oro Zenú, San Pedro Claver, Plaza de la Aduana and Plaza de los Coches.
How long does it take?
Most players take around 75 minutes, including the walking and the puzzles. The route covers about 1.2 km through the old city. You can pause at any point and continue later if you want to stop for a drink or a look around.
Is it good for kids?
The difficulty is rated easy, and the puzzles are solved by looking at the real streets and buildings around you, which suits school-age children. The detective story about tracking a stolen jewel and a smuggling plot gives them something to follow from stop to stop.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
One ticket covers the whole group playing together, so friends or a family can share a single phone and solve the clues side by side. There is no set time to book. You start whenever you are ready at Baluarte de Santo Domingo.
