Families with school-age children, Virginia Tech students planning a date or an afternoon with friends, and visiting parents get a free campus walk with a water-conservation theme, from Torgersen Bridge past the Drillfield and Duck Pond to the Greenhouse. Expect about two hours of walking and puzzles. Late-afternoon starters may miss the final stretch, which might close after 4 PM, and anyone who cannot manage 3.5 km should pick something shorter.

Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at Torgersen Bridge and finishes at the Greenhouse, so it does not return to the start. Along the way you pass Newman Library, Squires, the GLC, the Drillfield, the Duck Pond and the meat center, all on the Virginia Tech campus.
How long does it take and how far will we walk?
Most players take about two hours, including walking and solving the puzzles. The route covers roughly 3.5 km across campus. You can pause the game and continue later if you need a break.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes, it is tagged as family friendly and works well for school-age children. The puzzles build on a water-conservation theme, so kids learn how water is used and protected while exploring campus. Younger children may find the 3.5 km and two-hour length tiring.
Do we need to buy tickets or book a time to play as a group?
No. The quest is free to play, and there is no time slot to book. Start whenever suits you, as a family, a couple or a group of friends, and follow the route on your phone at your own pace.
