Is this a guided walking tour of Seattle?
No, it is self-guided and played on your phone. The app leads you from place to place, tells the Gold Rush story of each stop and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you. There is no guide and no group to join, so you set your own pace.
Where does the walk start and finish?
It starts at Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park in Pioneer Square and ends back there. In between you pass Waterfront Park, Victor Steinbrueck Park, Pike Place Market, the Seattle Art Museum, the Federal Office Building, Smith Tower and Occidental Square.
How long does it take and how far do we walk?
Plan on around 75 minutes to cover about 3.2 km, a little longer if you linger at Pike Place Market or stop for food. You can pause at any point and continue later, so there is no need to finish in one go.
Do we need to book a time, and can we play in the evening?
There is no time slot to book. You can start whenever suits you. We do recommend not playing at night, so plan your walk for daylight hours, when the streets of Pioneer Square and the market are easier to explore.
Can our group play together?
Yes. One ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated for the quest. Couples, friends and families can walk the route together, read the story at each stop and work out the puzzles as a team.
