Acerca de Statue of Decebal
The Statue of Decebal is a monument in Deva, Romania, standing on Bulevardul 1 Decembrie 1918 next to the Casa de Cultură. It honours Decebal, the Dacian king, and is an easy stop on a walk through the centre of the city.
Tips for your visit
- Plan on a short stop. A statue like this is quickly seen, so it works best as one point on a longer walk through central Deva.
- Go in daylight if you want to photograph it. Walk all the way around it so you see it from every side and against the buildings behind.
- It is an outdoor monument in a public part of the city, so you can normally see it without going inside anything. Check locally if any works or events affect access.
- Combine it with the Casa de Cultură next door and the rest of the boulevard, then continue on foot to other parts of the town centre.
Explore it on a quest
The best way to see the statue is as part of a wider walk. Questo's self-guided quests lead you on foot from place to place, tell you about each stop as you arrive and set a puzzle in what is in front of you. There is no guide and no group to join, and you can start whenever you like. Browse the quests in Deva to find a route through the centre.
