Is there an outdoor way to explore London's fashion history instead of visiting a museum?
Yes. This self-guided walk covers 3.4 km of London's most fashionable streets, from Selfridges past the fashion houses of New Bond Street to the traditional tailoring of Savile Row and on to Carnaby Street. At each stop you hear the story of the place and solve a puzzle based on what is in front of you.
Does the route include Carnaby Street?
Yes. Carnaby Street comes near the end of the walk, after Savile Row and Vivienne Westwood. The app leads you there from stop to stop, so you do not need separate directions, and the quest then finishes at Ivy Soho.
Where does the quest start and finish, and how long does it take?
It starts at the Queen of Time clock at Selfridges and finishes at Ivy Soho, so it is not a loop. Most players take around two and a quarter hours, walking and puzzles included, over a distance of 3.4 km.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
Yes, one ticket covers the whole group playing together on a phone. There is no set start time and no group to join, so you can begin whenever suits you. No attraction tickets are needed for any of the stops.
What if it gets cold or we want a break?
You can pause the game and continue later. If the weather turns cold, you can step inside to warm up at almost any location on the route, which runs past shops such as Fortnum and Mason, Burberry and Selfridges, then pick up where you left off.
