The route takes in settings tied to the Underwoods' story and the city around them: the White House, Hotel Washington, the National Press Building, Ford's Theatre, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the National Portrait Gallery, the US Navy Memorial Plaza, the Department of Justice, the National Archives and the National Gallery of Art.
Can we play the quest on Presidents Day or other holidays?
Yes. There are no opening hours and no time slot to book. You start on your phone whenever you like, holidays included. The game is a walk through the streets past these buildings, so you can still play if museums along the route keep holiday hours.
Does the route pass the National Gallery of Art?
Yes. The National Gallery of Art is the last stop before you return to the Ulysses S. Grant Memorial, coming right after the National Archives Museum. The app tells you the story of the place there, so you see it as part of the walk rather than as a separate trip.
Where does it start and how long does it take?
It starts and finishes at the Ulysses S. Grant Memorial, so you end where you began. The loop is 3.9 km and takes about an hour of walking and puzzle solving, longer if you stop for food or photos. You can pause at any point and continue later.
