Perguntas frequentes
Is this Manchester street art tour self-guided?
Yes. You play it on your phone, and the app leads you from mural to mural, tells the story of each spot and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you. There is no guide and no group to join, so you can start whenever you like.
Which Northern Quarter street art will we see on the route?
Stops include Frank Sidebottom, Serenity, Blue Tit, the Back Piccadilly Bee, Anthony Burgess and Hyuro from the 2016 Cities of Hope project, the NHS Mural, the Birds Mural and Inhuman Barriers by Nevercrew. You also pass the ever-changing art in Stevenson Square.
Does the walk pass Afflecks in Manchester?
Yes, Afflecks is one of the stops on the route through the Northern Quarter, between the Back Piccadilly Bee and the Cities of Hope mural. The walk also takes you past historic bars and boutique shops that are part of the area's creative character.
Where does it start and how long does it take?
The walk starts and finishes at Queen Victoria's Statue, so you end up back where you began. It covers about 3 km and takes around 80 to 90 minutes. You can pause at any point, stop for a coffee or a browse, and continue later.
Is it suitable for kids, and can we play as a group?
It is recommended for families and works best during the day, so it suits children who can manage a 3 km walk and enjoy spotting details in murals. One ticket covers your whole group, and you do not need to book a time slot.
