Is this like a murder mystery dinner in Auckland?
Not quite. There is no meal and no live host. You and your group walk the city and do the detective work yourselves on your phones. The app tells the story, sets puzzles in what you see around you, and you decide whether the boyfriend, the ghost tour guide or someone else did it.
How is it different from an escape room in Auckland?
It is played outdoors on foot rather than in a locked room. The puzzles are built into the places along the route, and you start whenever you want instead of booking a slot. Allow around 90 minutes for the 2.4 km walk, and you can pause and carry on later.
Is this a ghost tour?
No. The story is set during a ghost tour, where travel blogger Bella Wanderlust is found dead and the theatrical guide Percy Shadows is one of the suspects. The game itself is a self-guided murder mystery you solve by gathering clues and interrogating suspects through the app, with no guide walking with you.
