This route winds through Vondelpark, starting at Paviljoen Vondelpark and taking in the Vondel statue, the Picasso sculpture, the Rosarium and 't Blauwe Theehuis over about 2.7 km and around 90 minutes. Oz fans, families, friends and couples on a date get puzzles to crack together, and solo players can chase the leaderboard. If you want a locked indoor escape room with a host, book one of those instead.

Is there an Oz-themed escape game in Amsterdam?
Yes. This is an outdoor, escape-room-style walk through Vondelpark, played on your phone. The story is inspired by L. Frank Baum's original Oz novel from 1900, you crack puzzles to get past the witch, and original Oz-themed songs written for the game play in the app.
Where does the game start and what does the route pass?
You start at Paviljoen Vondelpark. Clues lead you through the park past the statue of Joost van den Vondel, the Vondelfontein, Picasso's Figure découpée l'Oiseau, the Orgelpark, Groot Melkhuis, the Rosarium and 't Blauwe Theehuis, finishing at Mama Baranka.
How long does it take and how far do you walk?
Plan on around 90 minutes to cover about 2.7 km and 11 stops. There is no set time slot: you start whenever you like, and you can pause the game and continue later if you want a break at one of the park cafés.
Can we play as a group or on our own?
Both work. Friends and families can solve the puzzles together, and one ticket covers your whole group up to the number of devices stated. If you prefer to play alone, you can take on the witch's challenges solo and compare your result on the leaderboard.
Is it outdoors, and what if it rains?
The whole game takes place outdoors in Vondelpark, so dress for the weather. Because you can start any time and pause partway, you can wait out a shower or pick a drier day without losing your progress.
