Where does the Rembrandt quest start?
It starts at the Rembrandthuis, the house where the painter lived and worked. From there the route leads you past Sint-Antoniussluis, Zuiderkerkhof, Bloedstraat, the Bushuis, three old guildhalls and the Botermarkt, with a story and a puzzle at each stop.
How long does it take and how far do we walk?
Plan on about 1.5 to 2 hours for a walk of 1.9 km. The time depends on how quickly you solve the puzzles and how long you linger at each stop. You can pause at any point and continue later.
Do we need to book a time, and can we play as a group?
No booking or fixed time is needed. You start whenever you like, with no guide and no other group to join. One ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated, and you follow the story together on your phones.
Is it suitable for children?
The quest is written as an art mystery for adults and couples, about a collector hunting a lost Rembrandt, and it is not set up as a family quest. With up to two hours of clue solving, it suits older children who enjoy riddles better than young ones.
Is the quest outdoors, and what if it rains?
Yes, it is a walk through the streets and squares of central Amsterdam, so you are outside for most of it. If the weather turns, you can pause the game, take shelter, and pick up from the same point later.
