The walk takes in the Hofbräuhaus, Schneider Bräuhaus, Der Pschorr and the beer garden at the Viktualienmarkt. Along the way you also pass the Mariensäule, the Asamhof Passage and the fountain at Rindermarkt, and you learn the story of the Reinheitsgebot purity law.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at Marienplatz, at the foot of the Mariensäule, and loops through the old town before bringing you back to Marienplatz at the end. That makes it easy to reach by public transport and easy to carry on with your day afterwards.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Plan on around 90 minutes for about 2 km of walking through the old town. You can pause at any point, for example for a drink or a meal at one of the beer halls, and continue later from where you stopped.
