My name is Iren, and I want to welcome you to New York! I'm a professional New York City tour guide and an avid storyteller. I enjoy wrapping New York's multilayered, complicated history into stories that make the city come alive. I'm in love with New York's energy and rhythm and am always amazed at its many feels and faces. Besides being a guide and a writer, I also dance swing: the dance born here in the 1920s and set to jazz - the best soundtrack for New York City.

Florencewalks -- four intimate walking tours of one of the world's most romantic cities -- was my first published book. The idea was to slow down, look around, and be curious. I write articles on art and, most recently, created an immersive walking tour with costumed actors popping up around the street corners of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. I love providing the setting for a walker to become an actor in a theatrical scene where he or she experiences the surroundings in a fresh, exciting, new way.
