An army is marching on Sibiu. You have days, perhaps less, before they reach the walls.
Your mission is to move through the medieval fortress from tower to tower and bastion to bastion, warning every craftsman, monk, and soldier who stands between the city and what is coming.
The carpenters must reinforce. The monks must ring. The bakers must prepare.
And somewhere in the armoury, the arsenal chief has something unusual in mind.
This is a walking quest through Sibiu's medieval defensive ring: along the great walls, through secret passages, past guild towers built by potters, carpenters, and archers, and into the squares where the city's history was decided.
The fortress of Sibiu has not fallen since 1241. You are here to keep it that way.

History lovers and fans of medieval fortresses will enjoy walking Sibiu's surviving defences, from Turnul Olarilor past the Haller and Soldisch bastions to Turnul Archebuzierilor, while a siege story pushes them on. Friends and couples get about two hours of puzzles on a 3.3 km loop, best played in daylight. Anyone hoping for a live guide to quiz, or a route that stays indoors, should choose something else.

Which parts of Sibiu does the route pass?
In walking order: Turnul Olarilor, Turnul Dulgherilor, Bastionul Haller, Strada Michael Weiss 1, Casa Bobel, the Sibiu History Museum (Casa Altemberger), Cazarma Kempel, Bastionul Soldisch, Galeria de arta contemporana, Turnul Archebuzierilor and Zidul cetatii, following the medieval defensive ring.
Where does it start and finish?
The quest starts at Turnul Olarilor and is a loop, so you finish back where you began. The last stop on the way round is Zidul cetatii, a stretch of the old city wall, which makes it easy to plan your day around a single meeting point.
How long does it take, and can we pause?
Most players take about two hours, walking and puzzles included, to cover around 3.3 km. The quest is best played during the day. You can pause whenever you like, stop for a coffee, and continue later from where you left off.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
Yes, one ticket covers the whole group playing together on a phone. There is no time slot to book and no group to join: you start whenever you are ready at Turnul Olarilor and the app leads you from stop to stop.
