Families with school-age children and visitors curious about how the Republic began can spend about an hour reading the historical markers around Independence National Historical Park and solving clues about who, what, where, when and how. The 2.2 km route passes the Liberty Bell Center, Franklin's grave and the National Constitution Center. If you want to go inside the historic buildings or put questions to a live guide, this outdoor marker hunt is not the right fit.

Where does the quest start and end?
It starts at The President's House Site at 6th St and Market St and finishes at the National Constitution Center, 525 Arch St. Because the end point is different from the start, plan how you will get on to your next stop or back to your hotel.
How long does it take and how far will we walk?
Plan on about an hour to walk roughly 2.2 km through Independence National Historical Park. You can pause the game and pick it up again later, so you can stop for a break or a snack without losing your progress.
Is it suitable for kids?
Yes, it suits school-age children who like finding clues on historical markers. Children under 12 should play with a parent guiding them, since the puzzles ask about who, what, where, when and how the Republic was born, and an adult can help read the markers.
Do we need to go inside the buildings?
No. Entering the sites is not part of the game; the clues come from markers and what you can see outside. Two clues, at the Signer's Garden and the Thomas Jefferson Garden, are currently marked as temporarily suspended. Because the quest is outdoors, dress for the weather.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
One ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated for the quest. There is no time slot to book and no guide to meet: start whenever you reach The President's House Site and play at your own pace.
