No. It is a self-guided walk played on your phone. The app leads you from place to place, tells the haunted story of each spot and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you. There is no fixed departure, so you start whenever you like.
Where does the ghost walk start and how long is it?
It starts and finishes at Hotel Prins Hendrik. The route covers about 4.7 km and takes around 3.5 hours, passing stops such as Westerkerk, Torensluis Bridge, Dam Square, Zuiderkerk, Nieuwmarkt, Bloedstraat, Spooksteeg and the Weepers Tower. You can pause and continue later.
Is the haunted walk better at night?
It is tagged as best during the day. The story brings the spooky side of the city's streets and alleyways to you, so you do not need darkness for the atmosphere. The whole route is outdoors, so dress for the weather.
