Take some perfect pictures of the river and the ships sailing by, then learn both about the working-class, industrial past as well as the dynamic present of this neighbourhood. You'll be able to savour Dutch street food staples at a street market (Wed, Fri, Sat) - but on other days too you'll have plenty of options to stop by a cosy cafe or a snack.

Couples and families crossing the IJ on the ferry get an easy 2.1 km puzzle walk through Noord, from the riverside Eye filmmuseum and Tolhuis garden to the Van der Pek streets and Mosveld market. It takes around 90 minutes and is free to play. Choose another quest if you want stories told at each stop, as this hunt sticks to puzzles, or if you plan to walk after dark.

No, it is self-guided and played on your phone. The app leads you from place to place and sets a puzzle at each stop in Noord. There is no guide and no group to join. You start whenever you like and can pause and carry on later.
Does the walk go through the Van der Pek neighbourhood?
Yes. After the Eye filmmuseum, Tolhuis garden and the love wall at Cafe ONS, the route takes you to Van der Pek square and then along Van der Pek street, before continuing to Mosveld and finishing at BUNK, a church turned hotel-restaurant.
