Now, you drift through the ruins of Pompeii, unseen by tourists, surrounded only by echoes of those who once lived here. As the sun rises higher, a chilling realization returns—you are about to relive your final day once more.
Trapped in a time loop, you must piece together what happened, solve real-world puzzles, and follow fading clues through ancient streets before the eruption begins again. Will this be the time you finally escape?

Couples and families inside the Pompeii Archaeological Park get a story to follow instead of an audio guide: you play Octavia, reliving her last day, and solve puzzles in the streets, houses and bakery around you. Escape-room fans get an outdoor version lasting about two hours over 2.4 km. Skip it if you want a live guide, or have small children who may find the eruption story too dark.

Where does the game start and finish?
It starts at the Stepping Stones and finishes at the Amphitheatre, so it does not return to where you began. Along the 2.4 km route you pass the Temple of Jupiter, the House of the Tragic Poet, the House of the Faun, a bakery, the Small Theatre and the Hortus of the Fugitives.
How long does it take?
Most players take about two hours, walking and puzzles included, to cover the 2.4 km route. There is no fixed time slot: you start whenever you like, and you can pause and continue later if you want a break. It is best played during the day.
Is it suitable for children?
It is recommended for families. It suits children old enough to follow a story, help with puzzles and walk about 2.4 km over roughly two hours. The plot centres on the final day before the eruption, so parents of sensitive younger children may want to consider that.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together on a phone. There is no group to join and no guide, and you do not book a set time: start whenever suits you during your visit and pause whenever you need to.
I want to feel the drama of Pompeii’s past—how can I do that?
Step into the story with Ashes of Time. You’ll follow interactive clues through temples, baths, and frescoed houses as if you were there the day Vesuvius erupted. It’s history mixed with suspense, not just a walk among ruins.
Could this be a unique date experience?
Yes. Exploring an ancient city at twilight while solving puzzles together is unexpectedly romantic. You and your partner become a team racing to “escape” before the volcano’s final blast, sharing quiet moments in spectacular surroundings.
How long should we plan for the game?
Most players spend about 90 minutes to two hours tracing the 2–3 km route. You can take extra time for photos or to soak in the Forum, theatres, and streets that feel frozen in time.
