Starting and finishing at Stiftsgården, this 1.9 km loop follows a mysterious crow past Old Town Bridge, Kristiansten Fortress, a graveyard and Nidaros Cathedral in about 50 minutes. Escape-room fans, friends, couples and families with older children get an outdoor escape game in the old centre. Skip it if you were planning an evening outing, as the story and graveyard stops are meant for daylight.

Yes. You play it on your phone across the city centre, following clues and solving puzzles in your surroundings. The route takes in Kristiansten Fortress, Old Town Bridge, the Archbishop Palace, Nidaros Cathedral and the Olav Tryggvason Monument, with no guide and no fixed start time.
What is the shadow realm story about?
You follow a mysterious crow into 'the shadow realm' and must escape in order to tell the tale. The story unfolds stop by stop, passing places such as The Gravediggers, the graveyard and the Archbishop Palace, and each stop sets a puzzle in what is in front of you.
Where does it start and how long does it take?
It starts at Stiftsgården and finishes back there, so you end where you began. The walk covers about 1.9 km through central Trondheim and usually takes around 50 minutes. You can pause at any point and continue later if you want a break.
Is it suitable for children?
It suits families with older children who can follow a story and work through puzzles. The route passes a graveyard and the storyline is a little eerie, with a shadow realm to escape from. We recommend not playing at night, so plan it for daylight with younger players.
Do we need to book a time, and can our group share one ticket?
