Per chi è
Couples and visitors with a daytime half-day in the Distillery District get the story behind the Victorian brick: whiskey, sake, molasses, explosions and a few local ghosts, told over 15 stops and about 80 minutes. Families can solve the puzzles together along the way. Anyone hoping to ask a live historian questions, or wanting an indoor tasting tour, should book a guided walk instead.

Domande frequenti
What is there to do in the Distillery District?
This walk takes you through 15 stops in the district, including Saulter Street Brewery, Brickworks Cider House, SOMA Chocolatier, Izumi Sake Brewery, several galleries and Spirit of York Distillery. Along the way you hear the history of beverage distilling in Toronto, look at the Victorian architecture and visit the favourite haunts of the local ghosts.
Is this a guided tour of the Distillery District?
No, it is self-guided and played on your phone. The app leads you from stop to stop, tells the story of each place and sets a puzzle based on what is in front of you. There is no guide and no group to join, and you can start whenever you like without booking a time.
Where does it start and how long does it take?
The walk starts at Cherry Street Gate and covers about 3.1 km. Most people take around 80 minutes, though you can go at your own pace. It is best done during the day, and you can pause at any point, stop for coffee or chocolate, and continue later.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes, it is recommended for families. Children who can manage a 3.1 km walk and enjoy spotting details in buildings will get the most from the puzzles. The stories touch on ghosts and explosions, told as local history rather than horror.
Can we play as a group?
Yes. One ticket covers your whole group, so friends or a family can walk the route together and work on each puzzle as a team. Since there is no fixed start time, the group can set off from Cherry Street Gate whenever everyone is ready.
