Domande frequenti
What is there to do in the Distillery District?
This quest walks you through the district's highlights, from Cherry Street Gate past galleries, Spirit of York Distillery, Izumi Sake Brewery, SOMA Chocolatier and several breweries to Saulter Street Brewery. Along the way the app tells the history of distilling here and sets puzzles in the buildings around you.
Is this a guided tour of the Distillery District?
No, it is self-guided and played on your phone. The app leads you from stop to stop and tells each place's story, so there is no guide and no group to join. You can start any time without booking a slot, and pause and continue later.
Where does it start and finish, and how long does it take?
The quest starts at Cherry Street Gate and finishes at Saulter Street Brewery, so it does not end where it began. The route covers about 3.1 km and players typically take around two hours, walking and puzzles included. It is best played during the day.
Is it good for kids?
It is recommended as a family activity, with puzzles to solve together and stories that include ghosts, explosions and historic entrepreneurs. Children need to be comfortable walking about 3.1 km over roughly two hours, and the theme centres on distilling, brewing and the district's drinks history.
Can we play as a group?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together, so couples, friends or families can walk the route and solve the puzzles as a team. There is no set start time to book, and you can pause and pick up again later.
