It is a detective mystery rather than a classic murder case. You act on a whistleblower's information to expose The Kingmakers, a secret society said to have manipulated world leaders for centuries. You walk outdoors, decode clues hidden in what is in front of you and solve the puzzles on your phone at your own pace.
How does the San Francisco detective game work?
The app guides you from place to place, tells the story of each spot and sets a puzzle based on what you can see there. The route starts at the Palace of Fine Arts, passes the Presidio Movie Theater, covers about 2.5 km and takes around 90 minutes.
Is it suitable for kids?
It is aimed at adults and families with teens. The story is a conspiracy plot built around code-breaking and deduction, so teenagers usually enjoy it most. Younger children may find the puzzles hard to follow and the 90 minutes and 2.5 km of walking a stretch.
Can our group play together, and do we need to book a time?
One ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated for the quest, so friends or family can solve the clues together. There is no time slot to book and no guide to meet: you start whenever you are ready at the Palace of Fine Arts.
