Domande frequenti
Where does the Greenwich Village music walk start and finish?
It starts at The White Horse Tavern, the bar where Dylan Thomas had his last drink. The route is a loop through Greenwich Village with stops such as Washington Square Park and Cafe Wha?, and it ends back at the same tavern.
How long does the walk take and how far is it?
Plan on about an hour to cover roughly 2.4 km at an easy pace. The quest is best played during the day, and you can pause at any point and continue later, so a coffee or a longer look at a stop will not cost you progress.
Is this a Greenwich Village ghost tour?
No. It is a walk about the artists who lived and performed in the Village. Edgar Allan Poe's house is on the route, but the focus is folk clubs, jazz venues and poets' haunts, including where Barbra Streisand first performed and where Bob Dylan spent his earliest nights in the city.
Do we need to book a time, and can our group play together?
There is no time slot to book, so you can start whenever suits you. One ticket covers your whole group up to the stated number of devices, and you play on your phones without a guide, following the app from stop to stop.
Is it suitable for children?
It is not a family edition. The stories centre on bars, music clubs and poets, so it suits adults and teenagers with an interest in music or literature more than young children, who may lose interest in the history between stops.
