Enter Sigmund Fraud—yes, Fraud, not Freud—a quirky Munich-born psychotherapist with insight, attitude, and a few riddles up his sleeve. Follow his trail through the city’s streets, solve puzzles at real locations, and unlock the mind of Munich itself. Walk, think, laugh, and connect with friends or family!

Visitors and newcomers who want to understand Munich locals, not just tick off monuments, will enjoy this 3.8 km loop past Gärtnerplatz, Viktualienmarkt, the English Garden and the Eisbach surfers. You play a rookie journalist following a quirky psychotherapist's riddles for about two and a half hours. Anyone after a short stroll or an evening walk should choose another route, as this one is long and meant for daylight.

It is a self-guided walk played on your phone. You are an aspiring journalist writing a first editorial about the soul of Munich, and your guide is Sigmund Fraud, a quirky Munich-born psychotherapist who leads you from place to place with stories and riddles about what makes locals tick.
Is this Munich walk worth doing?
It suits you if you want a feel for everyday local life rather than only big sights. Stops include the Japanese Teahouse, the Milchhäusl, Viktualienmarkt, the Fischbrunnen, a boccia and boule spot, the Eisbachwelle surfing wave and a section of the Berlin Wall, each with a story and a puzzle.
Where does the quest start and end?
It starts at the Siegestor and finishes back at the Siegestor, so it works as a loop. From there the app leads you through Gärtnerplatz, Viktualienmarkt and the English Garden area before bringing you back to where you began.
How long does it take, and can we take a break?
Plan for about two and a half hours to cover the 3.8 km route. There is no time slot to book, so you can start whenever suits you, and you can pause the game for a coffee or a market stop and continue later.
Can we play as a group, and can we do it in the evening?
Yes, one ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated for the quest. The route is outdoors and the quest itself recommends not playing at night, so start early enough to finish in daylight.
