It is free to play, with no booking. Choose something else if a 3.3 km walk in open sun feels like too much, or if you want an indoor escape room with a host.

Yes. This quest turns El Retiro Park into an outdoor escape trail. You solve cryptic codes in front of real landmarks such as the Artichoke Fountain and Velázquez Palace while a story of rogue alchemists unfolds on your phone. It is free to play and you start whenever you like.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at Puerta de la Reina Mercedes and finishes at Bosque del Recuerdo, so it does not return to the start. On the way you pass Plaza de Guatemala, the Alfonso XII monument, the Fuente de los Galápagos, El Ahuehuete and the Cascada del Retiro.
How long does it take, and can we pause?
Most players take about 2 hours, including the 3.3 km walk and the puzzles. You can pause and pick it up later. The park is listed as open 6am to 10pm from April to September and 6am to midnight from October to March.
Is it good for kids?
It is tagged a family favourite. The codes are cryptic, so it suits school-age children who enjoy puzzles, ideally with an adult helping. Very young children may tire over 2 hours and 3.3 km on foot. Bring hats, sunscreen and enough water, as much of the route is outdoors.
