Visitors set on seeing inside every building should avoid weekends and public holidays, when some stops are closed.

Where does the Colombo Fort heritage walk start and finish?
It starts at the Commercial Bank Corporate Branch and finishes back at the same building, so you end where you began. In between, the route passes stops such as the Old Dutch Hospital Complex, the Old Clock Tower, St. Peter's Church and the Grand Oriental Hotel.
How long does the walk take and how far is it?
Plan on around 1.5 to 2 hours to cover about 2 km and eleven buildings. There is no time slot to book: you start whenever you like, and you can pause the quest and pick it up again later if you want a break.
Can I do it on a weekend or public holiday?
Yes, you can still complete the whole challenge. Some of the buildings on the route are not open on weekends or public holidays, though, so on those days you will see them from outside only and will not be able to view the interiors.
Is it suitable for children?
It is rated easy and tagged as a family favourite, with audio stories and treasure-hunt style puzzles that school-age children can enjoy. The walk is mostly outdoors in the Fort, so bring hats, sunscreen and enough water for everyone.
Do we need a ticket each, and what should we bring?
One ticket covers your whole group, and you play on your phone with no guide or fixed start time. Charge your phone fully before you set off or carry a power bank, since the app runs the route, stories and puzzles.
