Yes, it works like an escape game played outdoors. Your phone leads you from landmark to landmark, and at each stop you solve a puzzle using what is in front of you, such as the facades of Rainbow Row or the Old Exchange. It is a scavenger hunt, so it has no stories about the places.
Where does the scavenger hunt start and finish?
It starts and ends at the Pineapple Fountain, so you finish where you began. Along the way you pass the Nathaniel Russell House, the Pink House, the Battery, White Point Garden, Legare Street's historic homes, a cobblestone alleyway, Rainbow Row and the Old Exchange & Dungeon.
How long does it take and how far do we walk?
Plan for about an hour of play over 3.9 km, with 12 stops in total. Time varies with how quickly your group cracks the puzzles. You can pause at any point, for a coffee or a longer look at the waterfront, and continue later from where you stopped.
Will we learn the history of the landmarks?
Not in depth. This hunt does not include stories about the places it visits. It focuses on finding each landmark and solving its puzzle, which suits groups who want an active game. If you want history told at every stop, a story-led tour is a better fit.
Do we need to book a time, and can we play as a group?
No booking slot is needed. You start whenever you like, with no guide and no other groups joining you. One ticket covers your whole group, so friends or family can play together and solve the clues as a team.
