The city feels older tonight. Heavier. Like something has been waiting a very long time for someone to come asking.
You've been recruited by the Bureau of Otherworldly Observation, and Agent Howl is handing you your first case: a district full of the dead, and a file nobody has ever managed to close.
Thirteen stops. Thirteen things this city would rather you didn't look at too closely. Some of them are waiting for you.
The dead here were real people, and they remember what the plaques leave out. Ask the right questions and they'll tell you. Ask the wrong ones and you'll find out why the file is still open.
Keep your phone torch handy. You'll want it. 🕯️

This 3.2 km loop starts and ends in Cișmigiu Gardens, passing University Square, Hanu' lui Manuc and Stavropoleos Church on thirteen stops where the city's dead have something to say. Couples, friends and small adult groups who like ghost stories and dark history get a puzzle-led evening walk they can start whenever they like. Pick another quest if you want a live guide or a gentle story for young children.

Is this a city game I can play in Bucharest?
Yes. You play it on your phone as a self-guided walk. The app leads you through 13 stops, tells the ghost story of each place and sets a puzzle based on what is in front of you. You are a new recruit of the Bureau of Otherworldly Observation, working your first case with Agent Howl.
Does the route pass Stavropoleos Monastery?
Yes. The Church of the Stavropoleos Monastery is one of the stops, along with Saint Demetrius Church, Hanu' lui Manuc, the CEC building, the statue of Constantin Brâncoveanu and Colțea Clinical Hospital. Each place comes with its own story of the dead and a puzzle to solve on the spot.
Where does the walk start and how far is it?
It starts at Cișmigiu Gardens and covers about 3.2 km over 13 stops. The route takes in University Square and the churches and inns of the old centre, then Piata Drapelului and the French Soldier Monument, returns through Cișmigiu, passes Casa Capșa and ends at Kretzulescu Church.
Do we need to book a time, and can we play as a group?
There is no set start time, so you can begin whenever suits you, including in the evening. One ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated. You can also pause the quest and continue later if you want a break along the way.
