Locals and visitors who enjoy city legends and puzzles can follow the trail of a gold heist from 200 years ago through central Bucharest beyond the Old Town. The 2.3 km walk runs from the Silvestru bell tower past Casa Maura and the Icon Garden to the Romanian Athenaeum, in about 90 minutes. If you would rather have a live guide to question, or want indoor museum time, choose something else.

Is there an app for the Bucharest gold road quest?
Yes. The quest is played on your phone through the app. It leads you from stop to stop, tells the legend behind each place and sets a puzzle based on what is in front of you. There is no guide and no group to join.
Where does the walk start and finish?
It starts at the Bell and Clock Tower Silvestru and finishes at the Romanian Athenaeum, so it does not return to the start. On the way you pass Casa Maura, Popa Chitu church, the Icon Garden Park, the Anglican Church and the statue of George Enescu.
How long does it take?
Most players take around 90 minutes, including the walking and the puzzles. The route covers about 2.3 km through central Bucharest. You can pause along the way and continue later if you want a break.
Can we play as a group?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together, so friends or family can follow the clues side by side and solve the puzzles as a team on the walk from the Silvestru tower to the Athenaeum.
Do we need to book a time slot?
No. You can start whenever you like, as there is no guide to meet and no group departure. You can also pause the quest partway through and pick it up again later from where you stopped.
